Job Purpose:

The Production Scheduler is responsible for the maintenance and control of ODG’s scheduling software, LYNQ, in combination with our existing ERP system, Syspro. Primary objectives are to plan, develop, and manage manufacturing job schedules, meeting or exceeding customer delivery expectations while acting within the confines of our internal and vendor capacity from start to finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Program and Business Development Management in the planning and execution of production job schedules, tracking performance and related activities, ensuring company goals and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain manufacturing production velocity through understanding and management of lead and lag times.
  • Maintain acceptable inventory levels through efficient understanding of available capacity internally and at key vendors.
  • Collaborate and integrate Production and Procurement inputs/outputs into the larger schedule picture as it effects On Time Delivery, velocity, and inventory levels.
  • Identify schedule non-conformances and resolve or raise the issues to the Program Manager and/or Director of Program Management.
  • Use expert judgement, data analysis, and communication skills to expert effect in executing job duties.
  • Using creative solutions to improve ODG’s manufacturing operations, collecting and analyzing production data to report on current status and improvement opportunities of capacities, bottlenecks, and general production asset usage.
  • Deliver product to customers on time, on budget, reducing downtime and bottlenecks, while measuring and improving production output and reducing costs.
  • Work in compliance with Health & Safety regulations and ensure team members are following policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational courses/workshops; review of professional publications, establish and maintain personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art and best practices, and participating in professional societies.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a team-based approach in implementing schedules, working with stakeholders and other departments in a cross-functional environment.
  • Provides expertise in supporting daily manufacturing activities.
  • Understanding of supply chain management principles, manufacturing methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, similar discipline and/or relevant work experience
  • Production, Material Planning and Scheduling, or Project Management is considered an asset

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Must have 3 or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a same or similar role
