ODG secures $1.2 million in grants

New Hamburg, ON - The Government of Ontario has approved Ontario Drive & Gear for two grants, for a total of $1.229 million, over the next five years. The Gear Division at ODG has successfully qualified for the grants through the following programs:

Southwestern Ontario Development Fund through the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, which will fund up to $1MM.

Rural Economic Development Program through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, which will grant up to $229, 561.

The funds will be used towards supporting business growth through investment in new equipment and technology, and job creation.

Joel Wright, President of the Gear Division at ODG, says these government programs are indicative of the central role manufacturing continues to play in the economy in Ontario. “It’s important that we continue to invest in our business, and in our people. The funding received through these programs will allow us to do that.”
